Jay-Z turned his Paris anniversary concert into a reunion night, bringing Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake onto the Stade de France stage for collaborations spanning more than two decades.
Jay-Z brought his JAŸ-Z 30 celebration to the Stade de France on September 10, continuing the stadium run built around 30 years since Reasonable Doubt. The Paris date followed his recent London stadium return and gave the rapper another chance to revisit different eras of his catalog with longtime collaborators.
Pharrell Williams joined Jay-Z for a mini-set that included “Excuse Me Miss,” “La-La-La (Excuse Me Miss Again),” “Frontin’” and “Allure.” Le Monde’s report from the concert also confirmed appearances by Pharrell and Justin Timberlake during the two-hour show.
Later, Justin Timberlake came out for “Holy Grail,” his 2013 collaboration with Jay-Z from Magna Carta… Holy Grail. People reported that Timberlake shared photos from the Paris appearance afterward, while Roc Nation posted footage of the pair stepping onto the stage together.
The reunion carried extra history because Jay-Z and Timberlake previously toured together behind their 2013 collaborations. “Holy Grail” remains one of the clearest links between that period and Jay-Z’s current career retrospective, making its return a natural fit for the anniversary set.
Pharrell’s appearance reached even further back into Jay-Z’s catalog, revisiting records connected to their early-2000s run as well as Pharrell’s “Frontin’.” Together, the guest spots turned the Paris stop into more than a standard greatest-hits performance, highlighting collaborators who helped shape distinct stages of Jay-Z’s career.
The Stade de France show ultimately extended the purpose of JAŸ-Z 30: treating Jay-Z’s catalog as a living history rather than simply marking an album anniversary. After Paris, the announced anniversary run continues with October dates at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
