JAY-Z will headline the next Super Bowl halftime show, turning his long-running role behind the event into a performance on its stage.
The JAY-Z Super Bowl halftime show is now official. Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation have announced that the Brooklyn rapper will perform at Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The announcement arrived during Monday Night Football’s Cowboys-Eagles broadcast, bringing confirmation after earlier reports had remained unconfirmed. It follows JAY-Z’s October 23 and 24 concerts at the same stadium, giving the forthcoming halftime performance a familiar setting.
Those shows were part of a year celebrating 30 years of Reasonable Doubt and 25 years of The Blueprint. The anniversary run has placed different periods of JAY-Z’s catalog back on major stages, including the Roots Picnic and Yankee Stadium, ahead of this newly confirmed appearance.
The booking also changes his relationship with the event. Roc Nation has worked with the NFL on entertainment since 2019; this time, the company’s founder will be the featured performer rather than solely helping shape the production behind it.
According to the joint announcement, Roc Nation will executive produce the halftime show and Hamish Hamilton will direct. The broadcast will be available through ESPN, ABC and Disney+, with mobile viewing through NFL+.
Apple Music will also build its Road to Halftime programming around the performance. The announcement establishes the headliner, venue and production team, while leaving the set list and any guest appearances for a later reveal.
