Lil Scoop: From GarageBand Experiments to a Rising Voice in the New Underground Wave

For Lil Scoop, music wasn’t something he stumbled into. It was something that slowly shaped him. Born and raised in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the home of the Little League World Series, he grew up around a mix of sounds thanks to his uncle, who was heavily into music and instruments. That early exposure opened his ears to everything from hip hop to alternative genres, planting seeds he didn’t fully recognize until years later.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, Scoop finally decided to experiment with music on GarageBand. What started as a way to pass time turned into something real. As soon as the world opened back up in 2021, he began locking in at studios, taking the craft seriously, and has not slowed down since. Nearly five years in, he has become one of the most unique voices rising out of the underground scene.

“I’d say my sound is a mix of the new underground wave blended with punk and hip hop,” he explains. “It’s different, but that’s what makes me me.”

Even outside of recording, music has always been part of how he connects with the world. He plays piano for fun and still hopes to eventually pick up guitar and drums, two instruments he has always been drawn to but has not invested in yet.

When it comes to inspiration, Scoop pulls from some of the greats. Lil Uzi Vert, Future, Lil Wayne, and other mainstream artists helped him discover his identity as an artist. Above everyone else, Michael Jackson sits at the top. “MJ made me feel like I could be whoever I wanted. I admired him and wanted to be bigger than that.”

A Journey of Growth, Risks, and Reinvention

Scoop describes his path as a roller coaster. One moment you are up and the next you might feel down. But through it all, one mindset has kept him moving forward. No risk, no reward.

“I have had to fail to succeed,” he says. “Here I am today, still pushing, and I feel like the best is yet to come. I am just trusting the process.”

His artistry reflects that growth. From his 2021 debut Vamp Wrld to his most recent album The Highway > The Road released in 2025, each project feels like a different chapter in his evolution. His sound, wordplay, and beat selection have shifted over the years, keeping listeners curious about what he will create next.

Moments That Shaped Him

Two memories especially stand out in his journey so far.

The first is landing a TV commercial with Master P’s cereal brand Hoody Hoo’s. Early in his career, being chosen for something attached to such a legendary figure gave him a huge confidence boost.

The second is his first live show. He remembers stepping on stage as a young artist and feeling instantly at home. The nerves disappeared, the energy took over, and it became the moment he realized performing wasn’t just something he could do. It was something he was built for.

What’s Next for Lil Scoop

Scoop is closing out the year strong. His new three track EP titled Untitled Vol 2 drops Friday, November 14, and he is especially proud of this body of work. That same night, he is hitting the stage at The Delancey in New York City, another milestone he is ready to turn into a moment.

Looking further ahead, fans can expect even bigger things in 2026. He is already locked in for two collaborative albums with producers Sigil and Twizz Pelican. Both projects promise a fresh wave of sounds and even more artistic development. There is also hope for a tour, something he is eager to bring to life as his momentum continues to build.

Through every phase, every risk, and every reinvention, Lil Scoop continues to prove one thing. He is not done growing, and he is nowhere near finished telling his story. In his own words, the best is yet to come.
