Vic Mensa Partners With UnitedMasters Ahead of ‘INNANETAPE’ Streaming Debut and New Album

Vic Mensa is bringing a foundational piece of his catalog to streaming while setting up his next full-length chapter through a new UnitedMasters partnership.

Vic Mensa has signed a new distribution partnership with UnitedMasters, with his 2013 mixtape INNANETAPE set to arrive on major streaming services for the first time on Sept. 30. The deal also covers a new Vic Mensa album planned for 2027 and a run of live performances that have yet to be announced, according to Complex.

The Chicago rapper, who also operates the ORANJ media company, described UnitedMasters as a company with a distinct ability to connect different areas of culture in ways that benefit artists. UnitedMasters Senior Director of A&R Alyssa Castiglia, who also serves as Head of A&R Research, said the company sees Mensa as the kind of multidisciplinary and truth-driven artist it wants to support.

INNANETAPE originally arrived on Sept. 30, 2013 and became a defining early project in Mensa’s solo career. The tape includes appearances from Chance the Rapper, Ab-Soul, Rockie Fresh and BJ the Chicago Kid, and its long-awaited streaming arrival will give listeners easier access to a release that previously lived outside the major subscription platforms.

The new partnership also gives Mensa a fresh distribution home as he prepares his first studio album since Victor in 2023. It follows years of stylistic experimentation that have included rap, rock and punk, including his 2019 93PUNX project, while the upcoming album is expected to mark the next major phase of his independent career.

Mensa has also been expanding beyond records through The Vic Mensa Show, a weekly conversation series launched in partnership with Mass Appeal and other production partners. The first episode featured longtime collaborator Chance the Rapper, reconnecting two artists whose histories stretch back to Chicago’s early SaveMoney era.

The UnitedMasters deal puts both Mensa’s past and future releases under one new distribution framework, beginning with INNANETAPE on Sept. 30. His next album is due in 2027, while additional details on the project and the planned live performances have not yet been announced.
