Apr 06, 2021, 15:30pm EST — We’ve been hearing about Space Jam 2 for the longest time and now it looks like it’s ready for release. The first official trailer for the movie is here and we’re getting more of the plot than the previous teaser.
As you can see, LeBron James is the star of the film and he’s looking to save his son after he was taken by Al-G Rhythm (aka Dom Cheadle). The two had an argument about “doing him” before he disappeared. By the time you know it, LBJ is a cartoon and knows he has to play a game of basketball at ToonTown to get his son back to the family.
All of the Looney Tunes join King James against the new and improved Goon Squad.
The Flintstones, King Kong and Yogi Bear also cameos and the film stars the likes of Khris Davis (Atlanta), Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery), Jeff Bergman and Eric Bauza (Looney Tunes).
The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee, also known for Girls Trip.
Space Jam: A New Legacy hits theaters and HBO MAX on July 16, so keep an eye out this summer for one of the blockbusters of the year.
