Unocoolbro just released the first visual for an unforgettable story of revenge and business for his EP, Continue Watching
North Carolina native, now based in San Francisco artist, Unocoolbro (also known as Jonathan Boone) is turning things up a notch. He’s letting it be known that he’s in his screenwriting bag and has no plans on stopping any time soon. His latest visual “Onna Wave,” he’s seen acting as a character named Proof. The song features Unocoolbro’s gritty and low-toned voice yet is also melodic and melancholic, as he juxtaposes his rough voice with soft guitar strums, “tired of looking over [his] shoulder.”
Unocoolbro opens the “Onna Wave” visual with Proof (played by himself), getting a gun pulled on him as he sleeps. You think this is the height or focal point of the video, but it’s just setting you up for what is to come. Boo (played by Riccardo Cook), is Proof’s bodyguard and enters the scene to ambush the armed man entering their home. The armed man and Boo fight for a bit until Proof’s girl Raven (played by Toni Rochelle), finds them fighting and calls in Proof, who saves his friend and picks up the gun, ending the struggle.
As they finally uncover the armed assailant’s identity, Jimmy (played by Cerdarious Barron), he continues to talk his shit, leading to his death, as Proof shoots him. The visual then reverses as we see different events. Unocoolbro’s forthcoming visuals will help uncover what’s happened in their past, revealing what’s occurring in Proof and Boo’s present.
If the visual is anything like what is to come from Unocoolbro’s visual from his EP, Continue Watching, then we are in for a treat, as “Onna Wave” feels like there is so much more to uncover. And we can not wait for his forthcoming visual!
