In a country as diverse as Canada, there has been a booming force of break-out artists representing different cultures and genres. Among those cultures, there is the Latino community eager for its representation. Recently rising Toronto Latin artists have made a lot of noise, among them is Papi AQ.
A multi-talented artist that can sing and rap while seamlessly transitioning between English and Spanish, Papi AQ relays a sense of harmony in his lyrics with the production to back it. Teaching himself how to record, Papi AQ relentlessly developed and refined his skills while performing covers, before debuting his patented “Spanglish” sound that blends trap production with Latin melodies.
Most recently Papi AQ has been seen on stages around Toronto showcasing his latest works including; “No Luv” featuring Florida- native Hrtbrkfever, and introducing the world to an upcoming project that will be titled “2 Am”. The Cook House Recording Studio and Millz have supplied Papi AQ with the powerhouse production, topped off by his main sound engineer Aftrparty.
Papi AQ first emerged on the scene when he opened up for Spanish trap-star “Kidd Keo” back in 2018. Captivated the audience with a perfect blend of tropical “feel good” vibes and finished off with a head-rocking trap anthem. Since then has partnered up with Samuel Santiago Alves, who created a movement known as Social Outcasts Entertainment. Throwing concerts and showcasing local talent, they have had an impact on the artist community ‘to this day. With upcoming festivals lined up, Papi AQ is definitely an artist to watch.
