What’s your artist name?
I go by Kyzo Kidd and it’s pronounced “Kai-Zo” but my fans could just call me Zo.
Tell us about yourself.
I’m whatever I want you to think I am.
How did you start your career as an artist?
I started making music off the influences of XXXTentacion. When I turned 13 I used my birthday money to order a mic and other recording equipment off Amazon and I recorded my first song 2 weeks after. Though I didn’t really understand the passion I would have for creating music until I really took it serious and that was a year after I stopped making it because I was just doing it for fun and it didn’t feel right plus I just wasn’t in the right mental space. But once I started again and really had a purpose behind what I was doing, I fell in love with everything about it and the rest is history.
Let’s talk about your new release. What’s it called? What inspired this project or song?
‘We Love Zo’. It’s my recent mixtape. What inspired it is really me finally getting everyone to HAVE to acknowledge me and what I can do. I called it We Love Zo because my nickname/alternate persona was becoming popular the more I portrayed it. So I ran with that as fast as possible. Essentially the goal was to get everyone to love Zo instead of only knowing Zo.
Where do you want to see yourself in a year from now with your music career?
Still doing it first and foremost. I definitely see myself with more recognition and more respect& appreciation. And a lot of music out.
How do you describe your sound?
My own. It’s familiar yet never heard before. Distinct and unique.
Why should people read about you? What story do you have to tell? What makes you stand out?
Honestly, I’m still creating my story now as I go. But why people should read about me? Cause I’m gonna surpass everything the greats did before me and the world’s gonna wanna see when I keep my promise. I know I’m destined for my own greatness. A different kind of greatness.
