Pop artist Messina (Jennifer Caroline Messina at birth) is an LGBTQ-American music recording artist. Messina’s Music is Mental Health themed and based on her personal life experiences. Her music is known by her fans as “raw and authentic” Messina’s fan base is called the “Messina Mafia” based on her Sicilian descent and entrepreneurial work ethic.
Pop artist Messina’s CITY Rose debut country album is all about her deep heartbreak on her last relationship. She chose country music because this story happened in North Carolina and country music is known as one of the best ways to describe heartbreaking pain. We call this word painting. Her newest single titled “No Longer Wasted” can be found on Spotify and it has an impressive 150k streams just after one week of its release.
Pop artist Messina also loves to help her community. She is the co-owner of an LGBTQ resources organization called “LGBTQ VSAP” (Veterans suicide awareness program). Their main efforts are to help veterans that are struggling with mental health. “LGBTQ VSAP” provides resources and awareness to veterans and to their families to help them understand how to help their veteran or retiree. This is a huge passion of Pop artist Messina because being an army veteran herself and a member of the LGBTQ community she had attempted suicide numerous amounts of times in her life. Therefore, she is determined to give people the resources they need so that they can find hope just like she did.
What makes Pop artist Messina a unique artist is the encompassing vision of all her experiences, her dreams and her imagination. Pop artist Messina hopes that her audience feels free to express themselves fully and not let anyone judge them based on anything they are or traumatic experiences they have experienced in their life. Critics will potentially raise their eyebrows as to why Pop artist Messina is releasing a country album. However, Pop artist Messina does not feel like one genre defines her. She has performed rap, pop music and even sang a classical Broadway song.
Pop artist Messina is currently working on performances such as “PLAYTOY” with her friend and fellow artist NiCKY LICKY. They both are trying to bring power to the lesbian music scene. They both will be performing in West Hollywood August 2nd while showcasing a screening of “PLAYTOY.” Nicky Licky’s debut album, and performance is presented by American Nu Networks. The film is directed by record executive Damon Dash and writer Raquel M. Horn.
