Why San Francisco Made Ramirez the Artist He Is Today

Published on October 28, 2026

Long before Ramirez built a loyal following of his own, San Francisco was already giving him a musical education.

“The Bay Area is a melting pot of music, sounds and cultures,” Ramirez says. “It helped shape my love for music and helped me become who I am today as an artist.”

That influence stretches across genres.

Ramirez points to RBL Posse and Andre Nickatina as major hip-hop inspirations, but he also names legendary guitarist Carlos Santana among the artists who shaped his perspective.

“These are huge names that represented the city of San Francisco and changed hip-hop and rock, just music itself, forever,” he says.

His connection to the city recently came full circle when Ramirez performed at a San Francisco Giants game, bringing his music to a place tied deeply to his childhood and family history.

“It was definitely a surreal experience,” he recalls. “Growing up in San Francisco and attending games as a kid made it a huge moment and dream come true for me.”

Baseball was more than entertainment in the Ramirez household. Sports ran through his family, and he says his uncle nearly played professional baseball.

“My whole family played sports,” he says. “Baseball was very central to my family.”

That history made stepping onto the Giants’ field about more than another performance opportunity.

“Just being able to step onto that field to represent my city, my family and favorite team was a profound honor for me.”

San Francisco remains embedded in Ramirez’s identity even as his music stretches beyond traditional West Coast expectations.

His latest EP, Brabus & Lorinsers, incorporates ’90s R&B, ’80s synth-pop and atmospheric rap, reflecting the same musical openness he credits the Bay Area with teaching him.

For Ramirez, representing San Francisco means staying inside one sound. It means carrying the city’s diversity with him wherever the music goes next.
