Back in 2016, Lil Wayne reveals in an interview with “The Nine Club” that he has been working on a new album called Funeral to hold fans over while they awaited the release of Tha Carter V, which was still in limbo.
Nearly 3 years later after not hearing anything else about the project (other than the “Grateful” single featuring Gudda Gudda being a rumored single), it looks like this is going to be the next release from Weezy.
Today, Tuesday (April 30), Weezy reignited Funeral talks with a post on Instagram Stories where he shared an emoji of a coffin, as 24Hip-Hop discovered.
Do you think this is a teaser for the Funeral album?
Lil Wayne made a huge comeback with his newest release, Tha Carter V. According to Billboard, Tha Carter V pulled in 480,000 equivalent album units within the week that concluded on October 4.
The September 28 release also comes in as the third-largest week for an album this year and the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album with 433 million streams.
The 23-track effort features the likes of XXXTENTACION, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and a few others.
