Lil Uzi Vert Cuts Off His Dreads On Instagram Live

This was an unexpected left turn for Uzi fans.

Philly rapper Lil Uzi Vert took to Instagram live to cut off his dread locs on friday. The rapper claimed that he cut of his hair as a “sacrifice” to help get his career back on track.

More recently, Uzi’s troubles have gotten even worse. The rapper claims that his current label is delaying his sophomore LP, Eternal Atake, which he’s been teasing since last July.

For reasons that have yet to be made clear Atlantic doesn’t seem to be allowing Uzi to release the project, a record that the rapper claims is already finished for awhile now.

It’s not clear what this all means, but perhaps Uzi is preparing to surprise fans with something in the coming days. Or maybe he just got really sick of his dreads.

According to Complex, “It’s a confusing time to be a Lil Uzi Vert fan. To kick off the year, In January he posted an Instagram story in which he claimed he was “done with music.” after teasing his long-awaited Eternal Atake project. Ever since then, Uzi has been continuing to insist that he’s done with rapping for good. He’s since made a small number of live appearances, but for the most part he’s kept fans in the dark.”
