Physical fashion show at the Museum of the Future of Dubai with digital catwalks in the metaverse was hosted by Kio DJ.
DJ and producer Kio, who was the music director and DJ at the fashion show and the metaverse show, is a former DJ with more than 10 years in the music industry, well known for being the first Colombian DJ to obtain an artist passport from Saudi Arabia.
“This event is a new reality and is the vision of many people working around me, we just made history,” he says. “This is the first event in the metaverse and physical, this is just a small step for the future of fashion shows, parties, and concerts. The future is now.” The talent show took place simultaneously at The Museum of the Future and in the metaverse. Kio DJ and real-life models were joined on the catwalk by their avatars and a unique experience that will mark the future of upcoming events in Dubai and the metaverse.
The catwalk featured the works of the five top graduates of Istituto Marangoni’s. The show’s grand finale was in charge of designer Rahul Mishra. The first Indian designer to showcase at the Paris Haute Couture Week, and winner of the International Woolmark Prize in 2014 at Milan Fashion Week, becoming the first Indian designer to win the award.
One of the biggest surprises of the event was the presence of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has been actively engaged in culture and the arts within the UAE since the inception of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority in 2008.
“The music that I create for the event is a mixture of Arabic, Italian, and some Latino vibes. Reinventing the Future fashion show is the name of the event, but not only fashion is the way we are going to join the future” he added.
