Freddie Wahter is changing the creative, the artist, researcher, and creative prefers to maintain his curiosity, in search of something new. This propensity for curiosity is embodied by the artists ideation studio, Wahter Studio. Freddie Wahter has managed to bring together painters, producers, designers, and academics into one global collective unit.

We speak with Freddie Wahter to understand his Wahter studio‘s beginnings and what’s next for the collective in 2023.

What is Wahter Studio?

Wahter Studio represents a global experience of creative culture. We operate internationally with network offices in Toronto, London, Paris, New York, and Tokyo–with Berlin in the works for next year.

We work across fashion, art, and technology, at once reflecting the global creative zeitgeist and engaging the contemporary landscape through diverse but distinct activities and experiences–we’re also a record label.

How do you work together?

We’re a close team, we love working on special projects that drive our creativity. From sound design for runways, art direction, song-writing, exhibitions, and creative consulting–there is always something new we’re keen to present. Wahter Studio is full with artists like Thomas Sternglass, Marc Andre, Blaccmass, and Prosper Samanyada so a lot of what we do revolves around the production of art — or exposing art to others.

What influences your artistic vision?

I’m heavily influenced by my surroundings. When I’m in Paris, London, or Berlin I leave with a stronger sense of aesthetic/artistic vision. My current vision gets filtered through my experiences in those surroundings, especially nightlife. No matter what I was doing, I always draw inspiration, or question what’s occurring in the moment.

What’s next for Freddie Wahter?

I’m working on a series of special projects, a few special records, events, and a capsule collection releasing 2023. It’s going to be an interesting year.
