Drake Confirms October 1 FOMO Streaming Release for Select Songs

Drake says a selection of the music previewed in his FOMO film will reach streaming services this Thursday.

Drake has confirmed the FOMO streaming release is moving forward on Thursday, October 1, bringing more of the film’s music beyond its YouTube debut. He shared the update during his latest Kick broadcast on September 29, giving listeners a release date while making clear that the drop will include only some of the songs they have been requesting.

“There’s a bunch of songs coming to streaming on Thursday,” he said in the announcement. Drake then qualified the promise, explaining that not every requested track would be included, without naming the complete selection or confirming how the songs would be packaged.

The distinction matters because FOMO, short for Fear of Missing Out, introduced several new and reworked records alongside music already in his catalog. Among the previews were collaborations with Don Toliver, including “Cold Shoulder” and a reworking of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” though neither was specifically confirmed for Thursday in the announcement.

The hour-long film premiered earlier this month and combined music videos with scenes from Drake’s summer in Toronto. Its settings ranged from Lake Ontario to the Canadian National Exhibition, while appearances from Sexyy Red and Loe Shimmy helped connect the new material with songs from his recent albums.

Some of the music has already taken a separate route out of the film: “Quebec” received its own video, and “Miss My Dawg,” with Yeat, appeared on Yeat’s Cocoon EP. Those releases give the project a growing life outside the full-length visual, which also returned to Drake’s official YouTube channel on September 17.

The update follows Drake’s three-album release in May, when ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR arrived together. FOMO drew from that run while previewing additional material, and the October 1 release will be the next step in bringing those newer songs to streaming audiences.
