Carole Radziwill says she plans to be transparent about her name appearing in Jeffrey Epstein-related records as she prepares to return to The Real Housewives of New York City.
Carole Radziwill addressed the subject during a Sept. 1 RHONY Season 16 cast panel hosted by Andy Cohen in Sagaponack, New York. According to People, Radziwill said the issue is not something she wants to avoid and stressed the importance of being transparent.
Radziwill said she had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes at the time and previously told The New York Times that she was friends with Ghislaine Maxwell for “five or six years” in the early 2000s but “never knew” Epstein. She also reflected on how difficult it has been to reconcile that past friendship with what later became known about Maxwell.
The former journalist acknowledged the seriousness of the case and praised the victims and survivors who spoke out against powerful people. She said her return to the Bravo series gives her an opportunity to address the subject openly rather than shy away from it.
The controversy is also teased in the Season 16 trailer, where Radziwill is referred to as “the one from the Epstein files.” In the footage, she also states that she never visited Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James.
Bravo confirmed in March that Radziwill would return for Season 16 as a friend of the group, marking her first season back since leaving the series after Season 10 in 2018. She originally joined The Real Housewives of New York City in Season 5 in 2012.
Radziwill’s 2005 memoir, What Remains, has also returned to bestseller lists following renewed attention tied to the success of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. The Real Housewives of New York City Season 16 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo, with episodes streaming on Peacock the following day.
