Tee Grizzley has released “Back Ina Yams” as the latest preview of his newly announced album They Forgot. The Detroit rapper dropped the track on Friday, August 21, before unveiling the project’s cover art and confirming a September 25 release date.
According to iHeartRadio, the record finds Grizzley defending his expensive lifestyle while reflecting on the hardships and consequences that come with street life. The song balances those themes with references to his support system and the changes he has witnessed around him.
“Back Ina Yams” also arrives with an official video directed by Jerry Production, giving the single a visual component as Grizzley begins the formal rollout for They Forgot. The release puts a title and date behind a campaign that has already included a steady stream of new records throughout the year.
Grizzley opened 2026 with “Hard Times” featuring Hurricane Wisdom and followed with tracks including “No Effort 2,” “Still Going” and “Dubs In The Chat” with Kaysan and Babyfxce E. Those releases have kept the Detroit native active ahead of the new album while highlighting the direct, story-heavy approach that has remained central to his music.
They Forgot is set to become Grizzley’s seventh studio album. It follows Street Psalms, released in 2025, and continues a run that has seen him move between solo projects, collaborations and his long-running narrative records without straying far from the Detroit sound that first introduced him to a national audience.
