New England’s hip-hop scene has never been short on hunger, and producer OTV Ian is one of the people feeding it. A New Hampshire native who works largely in the Boston area, he has become a busy Boston hip-hop producer and the founder of Out The Vault Records, where he makes beats and runs recording sessions for local rappers.
A Boston Hip-Hop Producer Built on Studio Time
Ian Caron started producing at 13 and rapping at 15, and he kept up his rap career until he was 19. Then he refocused on production and started Out The Vault. His rap chapter under the name HupYung still shapes how he relates to artists. He knows the pressure of being on the other side of the glass.
Today, sessions happen at Studio NH in Bedford, New Hampshire, and Do Over Don’t Studios in Quincy, Massachusetts. Alongside co-founder Jay R, Project X and KSully, he has built a small but productive network.
Big Night Live and the Management Chapter
One of his proudest moments came in January 2026. OTV Ian, then managing artists KidCull and 2mnescars, watched both perform with Rob49 at Big Night Live. He says it was fun to be in their corner, enjoying the VIP area and backstage.
The management stint reflects a wider philosophy. Whether he’s behind the board or behind the scenes, he wants to help artists move forward.
Building the Roster
Most recently, he contributed beats, alongside KSully, to Bandz Baby’s newly released album Flow State. This fall, he plans to work more with OMGitsFendi and Montana 99.
As for the sound, it’s a wide net. J Dilla and Nujabes anchor the foundation, while the 808 Mafia school and Pi’erre Bourne influence the present. The mission is unchanged: good vibes, every time.
For a Boston hip-hop producer with a global outlook, the next steps are clear. Out The Vault is going global.
