Justin Bieber To Become A Us Citizen
Some fans probably still don’t know that their fave is Canadian. Justin Bieber is on the road to making his stay in America more official. The singer, who is originally Canadian, is seeking American citizenship.
This does not come as much of a surprise considering the fact that most of his career path has taken place in the United States. His engagement to Hailey Balwin can also be a factor, solidifying his ties to his adoptive country.
The pop star has the option of renouncing his Canadian citizenship, but this is unlikely. The proud Canadian has recently copped a substantial piece of real estate in his home country. He purchased a mansion set on 101 acres of Ontario ground valued at $5 million.
There are many steps involved in the process of becoming a dual citizen. This includes proving his right of being in the country in the first place, filing a USCIS Form N-400 to start the formal process of naturalization, a background check by the FBI and fingerprinting in addition to a citizenship interview in which he would demonstrate his knowledge of U.S. history.
Once the celebrity becomes an American citizen, he will be eligible to vote and hold public office. Bieber could follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger or Cynthia Nixon. Presidency or Vice-presidency of the country, however, would be off limits.
