David Bowie’s long-archived Earls Court performances are heading back into an arena through Stage, a production built around restored film rather than a new live performance.

David Bowie’s Stage will premiere at Berlin’s Uber Arena on February 14, 2027, in association with the Berlin International Film Festival. The October 27 announcement brings together Wonderworld, the Bowie Estate and filmmaker Brett Morgen for a presentation of the 1978 Isolar II tour.

According to the official announcement, restored 35mm footage will run across multiple screens, accompanied by Patrick Woodroffe’s lighting design and Paul Massey’s immersive audio mix. The format places archival performance at the center of an arena-scale audiovisual production.

The film’s route to audiences has been unusually long. Neon Music reports that Bowie commissioned David Hemmings to film two London concerts but withheld the original result. Morgen’s restoration work included color grading, relighting and hand-painted elements.

The performances connect material from Low and “Heroes” with earlier songs. The musicians include guitarists Carlos Alomar and Adrian Belew, bassist George Murray, drummer Dennis Davis, keyboardist Roger Powell, pianist Sean Mayes and violinist Simon House, preserving a specific touring band rather than assembling a retrospective lineup.

The trailer also reconnects an audience member with that history. Mark Adams attended the original concert wearing a leopard-print jacket, later began working for Bowie and only discovered that the camera had captured him when the restored footage reached the artist’s team, according to Neon Music.

The Berlin presale opens October 28 at 9 a.m. GMT, or 10 a.m. CET, with general sales following October 30 at the same times. For now, the confirmed premiere gives the project a concrete first destination while its central attraction remains footage recorded nearly five decades earlier.
