Ye Shocks SoFi Stadium With Surprise Set During Usher and Chris Brown’s R&B Tour

Ye gave Los Angeles an unexpected jolt when he stepped onto the SoFi Stadium stage during Usher and Chris Brown’s R&B Tour for a surprise four-song run through some of his biggest records.

Ye appeared during the first Los Angeles stop of Chris Brown and Usher’s joint stadium tour on September 25. According to Complex, the rapper emerged in his familiar mask and immediately turned the guest spot into one of the night’s biggest moments.

The surprise set included “Runaway,” “All of the Lights,” “Flashing Lights” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” The crowd response made the appearance feel less like a quick cameo and more like a compact greatest-hits performance dropped into the middle of an already high-profile stadium show.

The Los Angeles date is part of Brown and Usher’s sprawling R&B Tour, which launched in Denver in June and is scheduled to continue through December. SoFi Stadium is hosting multiple dates on the run, including two more Los Angeles shows set for November 20 and 21.

Ye’s appearance was his first reported performance since his September 4 homecoming show at Soldier Field in Chicago. That concert brought together a long list of G.O.O.D. Music associates and collaborators, including Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Travis Scott, Common, Twista and Lupe Fiasco.

There is also history between Ye and both headliners. Brown has worked with him on records including “Waves” and “Down,” while Usher’s catalog connects back through the “Confessions Part II” remix featuring Ye alongside Jermaine Dupri, Twista and Shyne.

For a tour already built around two major R&B catalogs, Ye’s unannounced SoFi appearance added another layer of star power. With the R&B Tour still running through the end of the year, the Los Angeles moment now stands as one of its biggest surprise cameos so far.
