WestSide MOE, born Uchechuku Ihenacho, hails from the vibrant (and suitably) West Side of San Jose, California, where he still resides. Raised in a culturally diverse household with his father immigrating from Nigeria and his mother being African American from Chicago, MOE proudly embraces his West Coast roots. Inspired by the hip-hop culture of the 90s and 2000s, he transitioned from childhood poetry to music at the age of 13.
As a teenager in the Bay Area, MOE’s musical journey underwent a transformative phase, from an east coast influence to a more trap and West Coast vibe. Drawing from his life experiences, he infuses his tracks with authenticity and relatability.
