Marco Ivan also known as GMG Banks is an ambitious rapper and producer from San Diego, California. As a youngster, he lived in Los Angeles, California and grew up with a big family. They would listen to all the new Hip Hop & Pop that was coming out at the time. Gaining different experiences, and moving from place to place definitely impacted his life for good as he met different people and was in different environments.
As GMG Banks grew older, he gained a hustler mentality and a passion for music. From free styling with friends he always had rhymes and bars. Friends would acknowledge his talent so he continued to do it. Banks started recording music for fun on a microphone from an iPhone. As time went by, be would freestyle for fun in the streets until he purchased a computer and an official microphone.
With time, he started figuring out how to use the program and went on to recording his vocals for fun. With no knowledge on production, he began writing music and went on to record at professional studios, where he recorded his first official single “Make It Clap.” He shot his first debut music video and released the song, then was surprised on how much love he received.
Like any other artist, he faced many challenges, and just as much accomplishments. He opened up a show for his first time for Smokepurpp, and gained over 500,000 streams on his music all over every platform. He lost his partner, and a friend while in his music career but continued to move forward and make his dreams come true, yet this was an extremely hard time for him.
