Teyana Taylor Announces Music Retirement

Dec 5, 2020, 04:40am EST — It’s a sad day for Teyana Taylor fans. Today on Instagram, she shared the news that she is retiring while posting streaming stats of her Spotify profile. As she posted this, she captioned the fact that she feels “underappreciated” as an artist and the fact she goes under the radar in the music industry.

She also took the time to thank her fans for their support.

Though she may be hinting at her retirement as an artist, we all know she’s been kicking ass at directing, so maybe she sticks to that. In her post, she said that hustlers close one door but another one opens, so she is not done in the industry, she is just at peace knowing she did what she can as an artist, even though she doesn’t feel she got the recognition she deserved and was often overlooked.

Either way, we support Teyana in all her endeavors here and wish her the best on her next chapter. We’re sure we’ll see more of her moving forward.

Read her full statement below.
