King2eus, also known simply as Otto, is a rising force in the underground music scene—an artist defined not by genre constraints, but by emotional authenticity. Whether it’s fun, pain, or raw reality, Otto’s music resonates because it’s heartfelt. He’s not trying to fit into a box; in fact, he’s created his own: Ottonese.
A Passion Rooted in Childhood
Otto’s love for music began early. As a kid, he would mimic icons like Michael Jackson, absorbing performance and style like a sponge. But it wasn’t until middle school, in 8th grade, that he started writing his own music. With just a laptop, a cheap mic, and Audacity as his DAW, Otto began laying the groundwork for the artist he is today.
“My first song never released,” he says, “but it definitely sounds nothing like how I sound now.”
At first, his style echoed Eminem’s rapid-fire delivery—one of his key inspirations. Over time, however, his voice evolved to embrace melodic vocals and emotional storytelling, creating something wholly unique.
Inspirations and Influences
Otto draws creative energy from a wide range of sources. Musically, he credits:
-
Young Thug
-
Future
-
Eminem
-
XXXTentacion
-
Lil Keed
-
NBA superstar Kyrie Irving
But it’s the support of his loved ones that fuels his daily grind.
“They inspire me to keep going every day,” he says.
The Sound of Ottonese
Trying to pin Otto down to a specific genre is impossible—and that’s exactly how he likes it.
“It’s really hard to tell you what genre I make,” he explains. “I consider myself a whole genre. Let’s call it Ottonese.”
It’s an experimental blend of emotion, melody, and rhythm that speaks directly to the listener’s soul.
The Creative Process
Otto’s approach to music is deeply intuitive. Although he began by writing lyrics, he now uses the “punching in” method—freestyling every vocal straight off the dome. The result is an organic, unfiltered sound that’s uniquely his.
When it comes to visuals, Otto often crafts the concepts for his videos himself. Still, he’s looking to collaborate with more video directors to push his creative vision even further.
