Jamaica is home to birthing many talented Reggae artists. In fact, each and every artist is known for producing timeless and meaningful music that embodies Caribbean culture. With that being said, the hottest hit maker from the island comes to us as Masicka. Born and raised in Portmore, Jamaica, he lives up to the standard of consistently producing hit records.
Recently, the trending talent hit the streets of NYC and held a private listening event at Quad Studios. He wanted to provide a space for media and fans alike to give their feedback on his forthcoming album, 438. The highly anticipated project is set to be released on Friday, December 3rd, 2021.
His quickly approaching album, 438 is made up of 16-tracks including his hit single “Love Story.” The currently circulating record sets the tone for what’s to come on the new project. Following a great listening experience provided by Masicka, it’s safe to say that the project is simply impeccable. No skips necessary!
This album has every type of song and vibe you can think of. This is a diverse project that everyone can relate to and enjoy, from the ladies to the streets to being motivated. Additionally, it demonstrates many different aspects of his personality. As well as how he used his upbringing and life story to inspire his music. The surprises and excitement doesn’t stop there though! Masicka also includes guest appearances by artists Dexta Daps and Popcaan. When speaking on the inspiration behind the forthcoming album, Masicka goes in to say:
“I kept seeing the number 438 and knew it wasn’t coincidental. I knew these numbers had to mean something. After doing some research I learned they symbolized hope, motivation, always pushing yourself, and achieving all you can. While on tour a few years ago the number 438 was always surrounding me whether hotel room, time, or something about the number was always appearing.”
Although it was hard for Masicka to choose if he had a favorite track on the album, he ultimately went with “Suicide Note.” A soulful and deep record with a powerful message. After listening to the project it’s apparent as to why it was a tough choice to make. This is one of the hottest new drop offs coming to wrap up the year. Be sure to tap in before it’s too late!
