Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, Marc Richter is an American entrepreneur, rapper, and recording artist who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. What makes the story of Marc Richter really special is how he quickly mastered an array of hustles and talents that became a routine to thrive beyond his own social and musical boundaries, which would keep most people down. Sonically speaking, Marc takes his talents to new heights and reaches others through his music in a way that is sure to leave a melodic and catchy lingering feeling. Furthermore the tracks are accented by his powerful unique tone of voice which truly resonates with his listeners.
When it comes to the musical journey, Marc has tackled countless obstacles in his way and so we had to ask him how he did it. As Marc describes the writing process “When it comes to talent I’m not always the best at guessing the next trend or creating original melodies and lyrics from scratch. But I’m a killer researcher, move fast, and just know what sucks. Plus, my ego is not attached to anything. So I’m not afraid to scratch an idea and yell out NEXT.”
In his first music video release “Dancing With U”, Richter racked up close to 1 million views on facebook within just a few weeks when he first launched it on his birthday in late 2017. That was a while ago, and now Marc is back and onto bigger things. He’s beginning to rack up thousands of streams on Spotify and plans to turn that number into millions quickly. And by the end of 2022 Marc Richter is on queue to release at least a half dozen more singles which are so diverse that it’ll be sure to offer something for every walk of life; as well as give his audience the crazy lyrics, hypnotic melodies, and bold vibes they came for.
Since moving to Los Angeles, California, Marc has expanded his music to various genres including, Pop, Rap, Alternative, & even Rock. After rapping for fun throughout his childhood, Marc began taking music more seriously once he got a job on Carnival Cruise Lines as a Karaoke Host. It was there where, as he puts it, “A 6 month contract was equivalent to performing 180 shows in a row. It was like Jedi training.” And as for motivation, Richter has taken huge inspiration from Eminem.
And having the same birthday (October 17th) isn’t the only thing Marc has in common with the Rap God; they are both also icons at freestyling. When I asked Marc how he describes his music process he said he doubled down on that sentiment and said this “My music is mostly improvisational. It’s almost like I’m channeling something from beyond. So it’s interesting to see what I end up writing about since it’s 90% subconscious. As for context, I’d say the majority of the music is based around my relationships with girls that don’t work out, or about ones I have a crush on and hope they do.” And just like how we can’t live without women, Marc Richter plans to make heads turn in 2023 so some people feel they can’t live without his music either.
