Lupe Xchange is a 21-year-old independent artist from Northern Virginia who is taking his shot at the music industry. Born in Lebanon, Lupe and his family later moved from the middle east to the United States in the early 2000’s. Raised by a single mother of 7, Lupe Xchange recalls facing homelessness and other struggles that led him to express himself the only way he knew he could…though music.
“Music allows me to outlet any feelings or built up emotions deep inside.” He explained, “I feel that we all have built emotions in some sort of way. Music allows me to explain or connect any emotions whether its celebration with positive energy or entertaining negative situations.”
From a young age Lupe has always had a deep connection with music. However, it wasn’t until after high school that Lupe got in the studio to record his debut single “YSL”. Following the release of the track, the independent artist received positive feedback which confirmed that he was on the right path.
“The feeling was almost like a drug not necessarily for attention but appreciation and knowing you’re impacting someone’s day to day life with a song you made.” Lupe said, “I knew I needed to get back into the studio as soon as possible.”
When it comes to his career, Lupe hopes to show the world a unique form of art and continue to create things that are out of the norm. His goal is to break barriers for other up and coming artist that may fear being vulnerable. Overall, Lupe wants to inspire other artists to be fearless and to create music that truly expresses authentic individuality.
Last year, Lupe Xchange released his debut EP titled, “Reallive Popstar”. The project put the independent artist on the map, as he received attention from producers and artists who were looking to collaborate. This year, the up-and-coming artist is working on releasing new music and producing more visuals. In fact, TODAY he released the visuals to his track “Kent Races”, a hit single off his debut album! It’s the first of many to come from the independent artist, as he is dedicated to making this year his best yet!
