Meet Lucas Marquez, the owner of the thriving sneaker store called southwest.kicks via Instagram. Lucas is a 16 year old hailing from Las Cruces, New Mexico. At such a young age, he has already made a name for himself in the sneaker industry. Lucas has been collecting sneakers since he was in middle school in 2017 and he is now in high school continuing his sneaker journey. His company was brought to life on January 4th 2021 and he had officially began reselling sneakers.
The 16 year old mogul sparked an interest in selling sneakers due to social media. He saw many influencers talking about how sneakers are an investment and how you can make a lot of money reselling them. Since Lucas already had a passion for sneakers, he knew he had to try this venture for himself. Lucas talked to his father, explaining the idea of sneaker reselling and the profit you have the potential to make. He and his father took a leap of faith and entered the reselling world. They first acquired a few pairs of sneakers and made an Instagram to advertise them, since this point in time they have had nothing but success. Lucas then began to gain more followers on Instagram and a customer base.
Now, Lucas has made some major accomplishments and a small amount of time. His Instagram account has hit over 7.6K followers and he is netting in 100K plus in sales. Lucas has also been able to have a high stock in inventory in order to satisfy customer demands.
In 5 years, Lucas hopes to open his own store where he will have over 500 plus pairs of sneakers in stock.
