New Jersey native Justin Calderon is a man of action. He’s been dropping good music at a clip, and each release only gets better as time goes on. That brings us to the present moment and Justin’s latest contribution to the hip-hop world, a track titled “After Life.”
The budding superstar is candid and open about what he wants to accomplish not only in music, but in life as well.
“[This release] is about stepping up and taking control of my life,” Justin Calderon said.
The track itself sees Justin’s deep voice take center stage over a beat with a scampering melody. The video to “After Life” suits it perfectly; its minimalist feel allows viewers the chance to truly understand the lyrics.
Influenced by the likes of Frank Ocean, A$AP Rocky, The Alchemist and MF Doom, Justin Calderon is the man behind all aspects of his creations, whether it be the songwriting, recording, producing and engineering. To add to his long list of talents, he even directs his own music videos, as he did with “After Life.”
What’s next for someone with a work ethic and mindset like Justin Calderon? Well, he’s keeping it simple and focusing on consistent creative output.
“[My next moves] are to keep pace and consistency with quality production and meaningful works,” he said. “I put in a lot of work in and outside of the music…I taught myself through trial and error until arriving at a style I can call my own.”
