The Timberwolves made a few moves Monday after striking out on their main target in D’Angelo Russell on Sunday.

The most notable move was the signing of former Warriors forward Jordan Bell to a one-year, $1.6 million deal according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. The 24-year-old has spent his entire two-year career with the Golden State Warriors.

Free agent Jordan Bell has agreed to a guaranteed deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, agents Aaron Mintz and Michael Tellem of CAA told Yahoo Sports.

Golden State needed to unload Bell in order to make room for the recently acquired D’Angelo Russell and his max contract. The Warriors selected Jordan Bell in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft from the University of Oregon.

Bell has been on the outskirts of the Warriors’ rotation and perhaps needed a fresh start. In Minnesota, who was in on Russell as well, he will be operating behind Karl-Anthony Towns and theoretically be getting more playing time. After failing to get Russell, the Timberwolves appear happy to take other Golden State players with some interesting upside. Granted, Bell does not have the cleanest record either, he will get a new beginning in Minnesota.

Several suitors emerged for Bell, including the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the busy Utah Jazz according to Mark Medina of the Mercury News.

I'm told Jordan Bell also fielded interest from Houston, Oklahoma City and Utah. But Bell narrowed in on Minnesota because he could have the biggest role there
