Jay-Z Files Lawsuit Against Former Accuser and Her Lawyer, Tony Buzbee

Jay-Z Sues Former Rape Accuser Alongside Her Lawyer, Buzbee

Rap mogul Jay-Z, who was accused and cleared of a rape charge in the recent past, has decided to pursue further legal action in support of his reputation. The anonymous accuser, who dropped the allegations a few weeks prior, has apparently admitted to the allegations being false — leading to Jay’s decision to pursue further legal recourse.

The lawsuit is built around claims of abuse of process and malicious prosecution, stating that the goal of the accuser was to extort money from the rapper by way of “evil conspiracy” and “false and malicious” allegations, as reported by Billboard. According to Jay’s team, the anonymous accuser admitted firsthand the pressure from her lawyer Buzbee — who allegedly pushed her to extort Jay-Z.

On the flip side, Buzbee categorically denies any of this happening. In fact, in a statement issued to Billboard, the lawyer says that, “This case is baloney and has no legal merit. Shawn Carter’s investigators have repeatedly harassed, threatened and harangued this poor woman for weeks trying to intimidate her and make her recant her story. She won’t. Instead she has stated repeatedly she stands by her claims. These same group of investigators have been caught on tape offering to pay people to sue me and my firm. This is just another attempt to intimidate and bully this poor woman that we will deal with in due course.”

The pandemonium began with a slew of accusations towards rapper Diddy, with one of them including Jay’s name. According to the now dismissed claim, the rappers drugged and raped the anonymous woman, who was 13 at the time of the incident in 2000, post the MTV Video Music Awards.

Now dismissed, the charges are still a palpable smear on the rapper’s reputation, which is apparently the reason behind his pursuit of extended legal battle.
