In the ever-evolving landscape of music, Jaunté Jacobs shines as a radiant symbol of versatility, weaving together a vibrant tapestry of influences and experiences. Originally hailing from the DMV area, Jaunté was irresistibly drawn to Atlanta where he now calls home a city renowned as a mecca for music. Throughout his journey in the industry, he has remained dedicated to authenticity and refused to conform to established norms.

“I am releasing a project called ‘Forever/Maybe.’ It’s not quite an album, EP, or single; rather, it’s a collection of work that encapsulates my life over the past few years,” Jaunté explains. “Life has thrown many challenges my way, and I’ve poured all those experiences into these songs.”

Jaunté’s creative process is a magnificent fusion of diverse influences. Drawing inspiration from rock legends like Queen, the boundary-pushing artistry of Billie Eilish, and the timeless brilliance of Beyoncé, he transcends genres and creates from a mood perspective. “I like to be musically open,” he affirms.

Reflecting on his journey, Jaunté emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself and navigating the industry’s pitfalls. “One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to always be my authentic self and not try to imitate others,” he affirms. “Being different and unique goes a long way, far surpassing the desire to blend in.”

A pivotal creation in Jaunté’s discography is the track “Not Okay.” Stemming from a deeply personal place, it addresses societal expectations placed upon men and serves as his initiation into acknowledging personal struggles. “This song was my first step in admitting to myself that I’m not okay, which started my healing process,” Jaunté reveals. “During several listening sessions, this record has moved many people to tears. When working on this record I didn’t anticipate the profound impact it would have on others.”

For Jaunté, success is not measured by fame or popularity, but by the depth of connection he forges with his audience. “To me, success means expressing your art in a way that truly resonates with your listeners,” he shares. “If you can connect with people on that level, that’s true success.”

However, the path to artistic expression hasn’t been without its challenges. “I used to solely record R&B music because I felt that was what I was expected to do as a black artist,” Jaunté shares. “But I have grown in confidence to explore different musical styles, instruments, and vocal techniques, delving deep into my personal identity. I consider myself genreless.”

His upcoming release, “Forever/Maybe,” set to debut on January 5, 2024, under VII•III Music/Virgin Music, promises to be an eclectic mix of alternative and experimental R&B, Pop, and Rock. This collection dares to challenge norms and embraces the rawness of emotion and diversity.

In a world where the pursuit of commercial success often stifles creativity, Jaunté Jacobs stands as a beacon of hope, championing emotional authenticity, and reshaping the narrative of what it means to be a modern-day musician. His approach serves as an inspiration and a call to action for both artists and listeners to embrace the richness of diversity and emotional depth in music, paving the way for a more authentic and inclusive musical landscape.
