Ice Spice and Lil Yachty have teamed up for “Out My Face (My Baby),” a beat-switching collaboration that arrives with a colorful new visual.
Ice Spice has released “Out My Face (My Baby)” featuring Lil Yachty, bringing the two rappers together on a new single released August 28 through 10K Projects/Capitol Records. The 3:23 track is built around two contrasting sections, giving each artist a distinct pocket while keeping the collaboration tied together by its sharp change in pace.
The first half puts Ice Spice front and center over relentless, menacing production, with the Bronx rapper delivering a faster performance before the record changes direction. Lil Yachty takes over after the beat switch, moving into a slower and more unpredictable second section that gives the song a noticeably different feel.
The accompanying video follows the same two-part structure. Ice Spice appears in a series of surreal and stylized scenes before the visual shifts into a dimly lit diner as Yachty’s section begins, extending the song’s musical contrast into its presentation.
Directed by AMD and Little Miles, the video also features appearances from Gio, Karrahboo, members of Concrete Boys, Che Mario and others. The visual makes the beat switch a central part of the concept, moving between different settings and moods as the track changes hands.
The collaboration continues Ice Spice’s run of releases following her 2024 debut album Y2K!. Her more recent material has included “Big Guy,” created for The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, as well as “Thootie” with Tokischa and “Baddie Baddie.”
For Lil Yachty, “Out My Face (My Baby)” adds another collaboration to his recent output after teaming with FKA twigs on “On Your Mind.” According to Complex, the new record pairs Ice Spice’s rapid-fire opening with Yachty’s more erratic second half, giving the release two clearly defined sides.
