Isaac Girard, better known as I.G., is a talented young artist hailing from Fargo, North Dakota. I.G. began making music in 2015 along with one of his friends who was producing new artists at the time. They started recording I.G. Freestyles over instrumentals. Later, in 2017, released his first mixtape, titled “701.” I.G. released his second mixtape during his junior year in college, which was titled “Time Will Tell,” which inspired him to take music to the next level.
In 2020, I.G. moved to Florida to take music seriously. This was the catalyst for his career to begin. He decided to take a risk and DMed Busta Rhymes, who said he would like to perform a song with the rapper to incorporate into his next album. The project was his third mixtape, titled “Oasis.” He is currently working on many projects to release in 2022. He had been in contact about a collaboration with Jadakiss after he inquired via a video I.G. posted.
I.G. has had many diverse influencers on his music that create his unique sound. He draws lots of inspiration from the 1990s and the 2000s R&B and hip hop because it was what his family listened to as a child. He collaborates with his producer and friend Iceberg on a lot of his music. I.G. has a distinct musical style and unbreakable vibes about his music. When listening to his music, he wishes listeners to connect with him and also be able to appreciate his various styles.
I.G. released his debut single of the summer on June 3rd, titled “Do The Most,” which was recorded by Iceberg and Daadi. Check it out, and there’s plenty of more coming from this young artist.
