Building on the momentum of the groups latest teaser singles, the French-based outfit look set to unveil their latest EP ‘Ladi Dadi III’. Already garnering the attention of the likes of Earmilk and Backseat Mafia, Frizzy P & Mr Cole once again look to cement themselves as dynamic stars of the underground with their distinctive trip-hop sound.
Consisting of six tracks, the EP is the latest body of work to be unveiled by the alternative duo. The third in their ‘Ladi Dadi’ series of releases, the EP builds on the pair’s distinctive trip-hop sound, providing intoxicating auras alongside a warm, analogue synthesis. Showcasing Frizzy P & Mr Cole’s musical versatility, ‘Ladi Dadi III’ stretches from an alt-pop masterclass to a dynamic, experimental offering, highlighting the group’s true boundary-pushing nature.
The EP also features the track ‘OUTRO TOMBE’, the latest single to be taken from the new EP offers an introspective side to the group, fuelled by a boom-bap backbeat. The track explores the challenges of becoming a woman, depicting an intimate battle between the past and the will to transform.
Speaking about the single, the band dives in, “As often in this project, I let myself be carried away by Mr Cole’s airy and almost dream-like instrumentals, entering into a dialogue with the deepest parts of myself. Then, I try to translate into words the immense weight a woman can feel when freeing her body from societal expectations, wounds, and transgenerational memories that still linger. A struggle to become and to heal.”
