What is your name and what city do you rep?
My Name is KIDR and I am currently based in Seattle, WA. I’m originally from Dallas, TX.
Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?
I been dropping a lot of singles lately. I been releasing a lot of hard and aggressive style rap songs. I love this style of music and enjoy creating it. The inspiration behind most of these songs is just living life, hustling, and celebrating wins.
What is unique about you and your music?
I don’t just make one style of rap music. My music has a dynamic range and often goes from hard, aggressive, grimey, gritty hip hop, to sad, melodic, deep, and lyrical hip hop. I love making both styles.
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
Since day 1. Once I recorded my first song, I just knew. I was fully invested since the beginning without a doubt in mind.
What type of music do you listen to?
Mainly Hip-Hop, a little bit of alternative rock, a little bit of reggae.
What inspires you to write music?
I just have a love for hip hop and music in general. I love creating music. I love working on music. I love listening to music. I love the business aspect of it. I love everything about it.
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
Outside of the studio and this music business which is really a 24/7 hustle, I’m usually listening to music, in the gym, and enjoying life.
What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?
Hmm. To be honest I don’t wish I was told anything different because I am grateful with the way everything worked out. But, some crucial advice to know when you are just starting out is that self belief is essential for you to achieve your success. If you don’t believe in yourself, you are not allowing yourself the opportunity to make it. Also, having a love for the art form and the craft is essential. This will keep you motivated.

As of right now, I am dropping 2 singles every month. They are available on all music streaming platforms including Spotify / Apple Music / YouTube / etc.
