Musicians Levi Zadoff and Dead Hendrix have released the EP “Dead Summer.” This EP can best be described as a pop-punk project that is sure to please anyone who is a fan of pop-punk music. The EP features four main tracks: “DONT THINK IT COULD GET MUCH BETTER,” “ALONE,” “CANT BE GOD,” and “LOVE GAME.” Additionally, there is a fifth song, labeled as a bonus track: “TEENAGE DIRTBAG.” All five songs, when listened to together, fit well on the EP and make this sound like one cohesive project.
The first song, “DONT THINK IT COULD GET MUCH BETTER,” takes on the tone of a pop-punk song from the beginning. It proves the artists to be more than capable of creating high-quality pop-punk, and will make listeners want to continue to listen to the rest of the EP. “ALONE” is more synth-heavy while still holding onto those pop-punk roots. “CANT BE GOD” has yet another take on pop-punk, this time bordering on indie. On “LOVE GAME,” electric guitars can be heard prominently to give it a hard rock sound. Finally, “TEENAGE DIRTBAG” has softer vocals and sounds more experimental. It is safe to say that these songs are unique in their own ways, while also all being punk-pop at their core.
