The right song at the right time has the potential to completely change you. There are dormant energies within us that are easily activated by a haunting melody or a poetic epiphany. This is why music is so integral to the Jewish culture, as it proves itself to be a most potent form of divine interaction. Not many understand this as well as the Jewish-American pop-soul singer, songwriter, and music producer Eli Schwebel.
Eli Schwebel uses his personal life experience and perspective to manifest music that stirs something deep within the listener’s heart. Although lyrical and vocal ability runs in Eli’s bloodline, he had to go through many dark nights of the soul to rediscover himself.
Eli is one to face darknesses that others would turn away from. Schwebel recently worked with the benevolent organization, Amudim, to combat addiction and sexual abuse with “Stand For You,” crowned as Records Of The Year in the American Jewish Orthodox community, helping many to find love in a hopeless place. Countless listeners reached out to Eli to thank him for writing the song, many noting that it ‘literally saved their life.’
“I wanted to share with you that your song ‘Stand For You’… literally saved my life. In my darkest times..there were many times I was this close to ending my pain and suffering…and I was holding on to your song…listening to it over and over again until I was able to regulate myself and get myself to a safe place.”
“Stand For You” embodies the essence of who Eli is and the vibration that he wishes to share with the world.
Eli grew up as a musical prodigy from a lineage of prominent artists. His grandfather was a world-famous cantor, while his grandmother headlined Carnegie Hall with her beautiful mezzo-soprano. Eli’s father is a band member of D’veykus, a pioneering force in the Jewish Music world. Although Eli Schwebel had a head start in music with such a background, he still had to find his own way to the top. Grateful for the position he found himself in, Eli never took a moment for granted on his musical quest.
Eli partnered with his childhood friends, Ari Cukier and Gadi Fuchs, to start Lev Tahor. He was a teenager when he took this first bold step, which became the key to unlocking his full potential. The group wrote five albums: Lev Tahor – An Acapella Experience, Lev Tahor 2, Lev Tahor 3, and LTV.
Eli’s debut solo album, Heart’s Mind was described as a masterpiece in the Jewish music world and received praise from renowned people like Bentzi Marcus. “Eli Schwebel is a rare talent indeed. His songs can capture your heart and imagination immediately,” proclaimed Marcus.
Eli Schwebel’s two most recent offerings are “Stand For You,” a ballad of compassion and empathy, and “Journey At Sea,” a collaboration with Lev Tahor with a Pirates Of The Caribbean twist.
From the golden sands of Israel to the silver streets of Brooklyn, Eli Schwebel walks this Earth with intention, sharing the wisdom of his culture through the beauty of his melodic prayer.
