It’s clear to anyone that knows or listens to DJK that both he and his family have a passion for the music industry. Both of DJK’s brothers, Franchise and AJ1K, are artists, and his mother, Moma Scott, manages him. DJK’s music career began all the way back in 2007 when he started recording himself rapping over beats on a tape recorder.
Then five years later in 2012, DJK began rapping some real verses and making great music, however, he still didn’t know much about the business side of the industry. That’s where his brothers and mom come into the picture, in 2017 he joined forces with his family and formed the label FAST ENTERTAINMENT, and since then both the music side and business side have been very important to DJK.
To date, the hip-hop and R&B artist has released 12 mixtapes, the first being released back in 2013 and the most recent being released this past November. DJK has announced an upcoming album titled, ‘ARRANGED, COMPOSED AND PERFORMED BY DJK’, the album currently does not have a release date but be sure to stay on the lookout for DJK’s work.
DJK is turning heads with his current lead single, ‘NO PRETEND’. The song, which was released back in November has amassed over 200,000 views on YouTube and nearly 40,000 streams on Spotify. The music video, which was filmed in Miami Beach, has a very smooth tune and melody and with each listen you feel as though you are in Miami soaking up the sun.
DJK also wants to assure everyone that he is only going to get better and better over time as he continues to chase his dream and do what he loves. With upcoming crazy collaborations, a new album, and new music videos on the way it would be in everyone’s best interest to hop on the DJK bandwagon ASAP as the only direction he is heading is up.
