Today at 24 Hip Hop we have the absolute pleasure of covering an artist that we’ve had our eye on for some time now. Dylan Rooks, professionally known as Kezz has made waves in the Midwest music scene like none other. Whether you’re from Kansas City or Salt Lake City, there’s no doubt you’ve heard the name before.
There’s a solid chance that you might’ve stumbled across this artist’s kickass catalog of music he’s compiled and released throughout the past 10 years. However, that’s just the starter pack of the entire Kezz bundle! He’s also been killing it as a ghost writer in his spare time working with huge artists like Ashten Ray and Tech N9ne of Strange Music, which lead him to receive his first plaque for having a song hit the billboard charts.
No we aren’t kidding; he’s literally a billboard charting songwriter from Kansas City! If there’s any artist that deserves any sort of accolades for the grind, it’s most definitely Kezz. We absolutely love how we have a real world example like him in the industry to remind us that hard work does, in fact, pay off.
After taking a hiatus from the music scene for nearly a year, Kezz is back with a brand new single “S2P” (Something to Prove). We couldn’t be happier to see his comeback in full swing with an absolute banger of a song. The first word that comes to mind is “hype” when we spin this one. This is definitely a song to blast while in the shower or in the car on the way to work to get amped up for the day.
Kezz has proved to us time and time again that he’s a force to be reckoned with in the industry in a good way, so he really doesn’t have anything to prove to us. Yet, we really love how listening to this song will really give you the strength to go prove yourself to someone else throughout your day. Personally, this song gives me the confidence to go and seize the day no matter what obstacles lie ahead.
