January 28, 2025 – Rising star Andre Millering is taking the underground hip-hop scene by storm with his unique blend of relatable lyrics and catchy beats.
A young and ambitious artist from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Millering believes his music resonates with listeners because it’s authentic and tells his personal story. “I understand I’m young,” says Millering, “but I’m here doing music for a reason. I want to bring real hip hop back, I don’t want to follow trends; if I lived it, then I’ll tell it.”
Despite not being signed to a major label, Millering has already achieved impressive feats. He won a $1,000 contest, received a scholarship from the Marine Corps, and has garnered recognition from industry heavyweight Eric Thomas. He has also performed in Puerto Rico, Chicago, Ohio, and throughout Michigan.
Millering’s dedication was tested early in his career. “The hardest thing I’ve faced was 100% effort and 0 recognition,” he admits. “When I was about 15-16, I wasn’t getting any recognition or connections, and I was putting my all into it. Then I finally learned that this music stuff is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.”
This perseverance led Millering to release his EP, “Just Cause”, which proved to be a turning point. “I dropped ‘Just Cause’ to prove to myself that you can make it for yourself and get recognition,” he says. “After that, I’ve gotten a lot of recognition, and my name started spiraling around my city.”
Millering recently released a follow-up EP, “Just Cause (Detroit Version)”, which chronicles his experiences over the summer.
Looking ahead, Millering has ambitious goals. He’s pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Arts while striving to become a mainstream artist. He dreams of collaborating with industry giants like Lil Wayne and Saba.
