Alicia Keys returns with her new single along side a visual for “Time Machine,” which she co-produced with Rob Knox. On the retro-funk bop, Keys celebrates the moment instead of dwelling in the past.
The video is co-directed by Art Johnson and Alicia’s brother Cole Cook. The funky production heard on the single is a stark change compared to the heavy key-laden records we’ve become accustomed to from Keys recently.
“No, we can’t rewind / Life ain’t no time machine,” she sings. “But once you free your mind, there’s beauty in everything.”
“Time Machine” is set to appear on Keys’ forthcoming 7th studio album. Keys will return to host the 62nd annual Grammy Awards on Jan. 26. The 15-time Grammy winner is also readying her seventh studio album for release next year.
