Chicago is a gangster city known for its long history of crime and more recently for its music artists. Artists like Chief Keef and Lil Durk have become trendsetters in the hip hop community. However, we’ve learned of another Chicago artist who has been contributed to the Chicago music scene. llyinsane was born and raised in the gritty streets of Chicago.
His early years was filled with both struggles and triumphs. His experiences in the city molded him into the person he is today. Shortly after starting his rap career, he co-founded Insane Gang Family (IGF)under his own independent label “INSANE RECORDS GROUP” in partnership with ONDUMMYENT.
Shortly after starting to take his music career serious, Illy Insane suffered a tough blow. Illy was convicted of gun trafficking and served time in an Illinois federal prison. The unfortunate twist of this story is he was actually set up by an undercover informant that was once his friend. In fact, they both attended school together.
However this prison bid did not stop Illy Insane at all, after getting released in 2020 he relaunched his Insane Records Group and partnered with his long time friend Eli (On Dummy Ent. CEO). While still confined on house arrest, Illy Insane has been recording daily and dropping hot new tracks like “Golden Eye” and “Another Level”. Illy Insane is known for his unique flow and original sound. Fans say that his flow is unlike any other.
