Jay-Z turned his London stadium concert into a birthday celebration for Beyoncé, leading thousands of fans in a “Happy Birthday” singalong before fireworks lit up the venue.
Jay-Z gave Beyoncé a huge birthday salute during his September 4 show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The singer, who turned 45 that day, watched from a private suite as her husband stopped the show to recognize the occasion.
“We got somebody’s birthday in the house,” Jay-Z told the crowd before asking the stadium to help him sing to Beyoncé. Thousands of fans joined in as Beyoncé smiled and sang along from her suite, with the moment captured in video from the concert.
The celebration continued with a fireworks display over the stadium, adding another spectacle to the first night of Jay-Z’s JAŸ-Z 30 London run. The concerts mark 30 years since his debut album Reasonable Doubt and also celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.
The birthday moment came during a packed night that also featured Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean performing Fugees material, along with appearances from Giggs and Idris Elba. Beyoncé’s presence gave the anniversary concert an additional family celebration as Jay-Z marked his own career milestone.
The London appearance follows another active stretch for the couple musically. Jay-Z recently appeared on Beyoncé’s “Morning Dew (Donk)” remix, extending a long history of collaborations between the two artists.
The stadium-wide birthday singalong became one of the standout moments from Jay-Z’s London return, combining his 30-year career celebration with a public tribute to Beyoncé on her 45th birthday.
