Druski says his support for Drake throughout the Kendrick Lamar battle came down to friendship and loyalty, not whichever side had the most momentum.

Druski is making it clear why he remained in Drake’s corner during the rapper’s high-profile feud with Kendrick Lamar. Speaking in a new GQ profile, the comedian said his relationship with Drake mattered more to him than the shifting public conversation surrounding the battle.

“That’s my brother,” Druski said of Drake. “I don’t care about what’s hot at the moment or what’s going on…I’m just big on loyalty. I just supported a friend throughout that whole endeavor.” The comments offer a straightforward explanation for why Druski never publicly distanced himself from the Toronto star while the feud dominated hip-hop.

The bond goes back years. Drake was one of Druski’s earliest major celebrity supporters, giving the rising comedian a memorable cameo in the 2020 “Laugh Now Cry Later” video featuring Lil Durk. Druski’s profile has expanded dramatically since then, but the pair have continued to be associated as friends and collaborators.

That connection drew extra attention as Drake and Kendrick’s rivalry intensified in 2024. Druski was repeatedly discussed online as being firmly on Drake’s side, with individual clips and public moments becoming evidence for fans trying to map out where celebrities stood during one of rap’s biggest recent battles.

Druski also addressed one viral awards-show moment that some viewers interpreted as him deliberately avoiding Kendrick. He denied that the interaction was intentional, saying, “Social media will take these clips and spin them however they want to spin it.” His explanation separates his loyalty to Drake from claims that every awkward-looking encounter involving Kendrick was calculated.

The comments arrive as Druski continues pushing beyond social media comedy into larger entertainment projects. After hosting the 2026 BET Awards, he is developing the scripted series Collect & Praise and expanding his film work, but his stance on Drake appears unchanged: when the rap world picked sides, he viewed his role as supporting a longtime friend.
