Egyptian Superstar Mohamed Ramadan Signs With WME

Hip-hop has become a global language, and Egyptian superstar Mohamed Ramadan is proving just how far that influence can travel. The Cairo-born entertainer has officially signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for worldwide representation in all areas, a move that signals the next stage in his rapidly expanding global career.

Ramadan, 37, has already built one of the largest entertainment platforms to come out of the Middle East. Known across the region as a multi-hyphenate star of film, television, and music, he commands a combined social media following of more than 85 million fans worldwide, including 36 million followers on Instagram alone.

But the numbers that really stand out are on YouTube.

Ramadan’s channel surpassed 10 million subscribers in 2020, earning him YouTube’s prestigious Diamond Creator Award, making him the first Egyptian artist to reach that milestone. Since then, his videos have continued stacking views at a massive pace. Today his music videos have generated more than 6 billion views, turning his channel into one of the most powerful digital platforms for any artist coming out of Africa or the Middle East.

A Superstar Built From Film and Television

Long before the streaming numbers and viral music videos, Ramadan had already built a dominant career in Egyptian cinema and television.

He began acting in the mid-2000s and quickly became one of the most recognizable faces in the country. Early appearances in series such as The Cinderella in 2006 helped launch his career, while films like Scheherazade, Tell Me a Story in 2009 and the thriller Abdu Mota in 2012 elevated him into the top tier of Egyptian actors.

His resume now includes more than 45 films and television series, including the action-adventure films The Treasure and The Treasure 2 and hit TV dramas such as Ibn Halal, Al Ostoura, and the widely watched series Jaafar Al Omda.

Along the way Ramadan earned multiple honors, including Egypt’s “Greatest Nationwide Talent” award three years in a row and the prestigious Murex d’Or award for Best Arab Actor. Legendary actor Omar Sharif once even described him as a possible artistic successor, a rare endorsement that helped cement his reputation in the region.

From Movie Star to Music Phenomenon

Ramadan eventually expanded into music, blending Arabic pop with hip-hop and Afro-influenced sounds. The move paid off quickly.

His 2018 song “Number One” became a major regional anthem, while tracks like “Mafia” helped him secure top honors at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). His 2020 collaboration “Ya Habibi” with French-Congolese rapper Gims pushed his music even further globally, topping charts across 15 countries throughout Africa and the Middle East.

Since then, Ramadan has continued building an international catalog with hits like “Bum Bum” and the 2025 single “Ana Enta.” Along the way he has collaborated with artists including Rema, Future, and French Montana, showing how his music continues to bridge different regions of the global rap scene.

A Viral Cross-Cultural Collaboration

One of Ramadan’s most talked-about releases recently came through an unexpected collaboration.

He teamed up with Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of the U.S. president and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, for the song “Sah Sah.”

The track quickly sparked online discussion due to the unlikely pairing and became one of the most unusual cross-cultural collaborations in recent pop music.

The moment reflected Ramadan’s ability to move between entertainment, politics, and global culture in ways that few artists can.

The Global Stage Is Calling

Ramadan’s international momentum continues to build beyond streaming platforms. He made history in 2024 by becoming the first Egyptian artist to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, placing him on one of the biggest stages in global music.

That momentum will continue this year when Ramadan performs at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, marking another historic moment as the first Arab artist scheduled to perform at the iconic New York venue.

With WME now representing him worldwide, the move is expected to open doors across film, television, touring, and global music collaborations.

For hip-hop fans watching the rise of international rap scenes, Mohamed Ramadan represents something bigger than just a regional star. He’s part of the next wave of artists bringing Middle Eastern and African voices deeper into the global music conversation.

And with billions of views, tens of millions of fans, and one of Hollywood’s most powerful agencies behind him, his next chapter could be his biggest yet.
