TW Preach: Using Rap to Deliver a Message of Faith, Healing, and Identity

From the heart of the Bronx, New York, comes a voice not chasing clout but calling for clarity. Davin Thompson-Williams, better known as TW Preach, is a rapper and songwriter whose music doesn’t just move — it ministers.

TW Preach isn’t here to fit in. In a music industry often driven by trends and perks, he’s walking a different path — one led by faith and built on purpose. His songs center on reverence for God, perseverance through pain, and the journey of self-discovery. “People should read about me because my music has a strong message,” he says. “I want to give people a chance to be encouraged and learn about the truth of God’s word through song.”

That mission became deeply personal after the tragic loss of his younger brother. In the face of grief, TW Preach turned to the studio and created “Dayle” — a track that became more than a tribute. It was a turning point. “When I would listen to it and it encouraged me, I thought it may encourage others too.” That spark became his purpose.

Since then, TW Preach has made his mark performing in gospel concerts and landing features on Timeless Gospel Radio. But the journey hasn’t been without challenges. “One of the biggest challenges I’ve overcome is a fear of rejection,” he admits. “Putting yourself out there can be anxiety-inducing, but through prayer and support from friends and family, I decided to go for it.”

Now, he’s gearing up for his first EP — a project that promises to be more than a playlist. It’s a story of how faith has shaped his identity and helped him stand firm in who he is, both as a man and as an artist.

Looking ahead, TW Preach envisions a future filled with new music, meaningful collaborations, and ministry through performance. “I see myself consistently making music and inspiring others to do the same,” he says. “I want to collaborate with Lecrae and Flame because they represent the kind of reach and impact I strive for.”

At the core of TW Preach’s artistry is an unshakable faith and a commitment to using his voice for something bigger than himself. He’s not just rapping; he’s reaching.
