Following on from his teaser singles earlier in the year, Wavy Banx is back with the release of his latest full-length project ‘What Would Wavy Do?’. Showing no signs of slowing down, Banx steps up to release his fifth album in five years.
Making his name known through bouncing basslines and hard-hitting percussions, the nine-track covers the breadth of Wavy’s alluring artistry. Tapping into both the nostalgic and contemporary, the project leans into the sound of some of the most iconic hip-hop releases, leaving room for his own distinctive stamp.
Diving into the project, he explains, “With my last project being centred in growth and healing, this project is about me getting back to being myself, talking my talk, and just having fun. Hence the title “What Would Wavy Do”, bringing me back to the high-on-life feeling I had when I first started making music. Throughout the recording process,I made it my goal to have a blast in the booth, and you can hear it in tracks like “Do That”, “Wavy Walking”, “Right Now”, etc. With the world being as crazy as it is, I want people to have an outlet and enjoy themselves while listening to this project.”
Hailing from Northern California, Wavy Banx is a rapper/songwriter from Greensboro, NC. Born with a passion for beats, spending his childhood playing drums and free-styling with his friends, he embellished himself with a rich musical education, having an appreciation for a wide range of sounds. Making his debut in 2020, he has moved from strength to strength, growing his own series of ‘Wavy’ albums. Gearing up for the spring, he looks to release his new project, ‘What Would Wavy Do?’
