UPDATE: 19-year-old Tay-K has been found guilty of murder and aggravated robbery, according to a report Texas’ Fort Worth Star-Telegram late Friday morning (July 19). He was found guilty for his part in the murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker and aggravated robbery that found 19-year-old Zachary Beloate shot in the shoulder.
Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, now faces the two aggravated robbery charges he previously pled guilty to plus the additional aggravated robbery and murder convictions the jury just found him guilty of. McIntyre faces five to 99 years or life in prison on each.
ORIGINAL STORY: The state and defense rested their case in Tay-K‘s capital murder trial, and the jury could possibly deliberate on the case by this afternoon (July 18), according to CBS Dallas-Fort Worth.
Prosecutors ended making their case on Thursday by having the mother of Ethan Walker, the 21-year-old who was killed in the botched robbery, to testify on the stand. Walker’s mother said that he had just moved into the house with Zachary Beloate, and she believes he was shot because he didn’t have any money or drugs.
One of Tay-K’s co-defendants also testified in the case, claiming that Tay-K joked about carrying out the robbery for a little bit of money and a watch. She added that two days after the incident, Tay-K and his friends had called a “code red” and looked to be packing to leave town.
If convicted of capital murder, Tay-K faces life in prison.
